Updates

We signed the closing paperwork on the house yesterday. They should receive it tomorrow and the sellers will sign it. I guess it's pretty much ours now. DH flies back out next week to pick up the keys and sham. He will also be eating lots of Wingstop and Sonic while he's there. Boooo.

My Mom gets in on Sunday and will be here for three weeks. I can't wait to spend time with her again. It's her fourth time back since we have been here so all she really wants to do is go to the beach, get Dole whip, go to Coldstone, go to Mongolian BBQ at Hickam, and go to Cinnabon. I laughed that most of the things involve food since my mom is so skinny. Her excuse is that she can't get any of that in TX.

I had my registration appointment at Tripler yesterday. My next appointment is on the 16th. I get to go to Schofield and be seen by the same nurse when I was pregnant with Mason. I'm still in denial on this pregnancy. I always feel this way until I hear the heartbeat and know baby is alive and well in there.

So, I have been holding out on pictures of the house. I just didn't want to jinx anything, but we are good to go now. =)
I messed up and labeled things under the pictures, too lazy to fix it. =P

Kitchen

Dining Room

Family Room

Formal Living Room

Master Bedroom

Master Closet^ (10'x10'--this thing is bigger than Chloe's current room. DH joked that we could use it as a nursery for the baby, LOL.)

Basment bedroom (We will use this as a guest room)

Extra basement bedroom (DH will be using this as his hobby room/workout room)

Basement (DH's "Man Room"-LOL)

Backyard (From the upper deck we have a nice view of Pikes Peak)

I can't wait to get there. I can't wait to have all the seasons again! DH and I already discussed that we won't buy each other Christmas presents. Instead we will save that money and use it to spend on the house. I'm ready to get out of the dump we are currently in and into our house. We moved into this one to help pay off bills and shove money into savings for our house. It's also going to be nice to not live in so much clutter. I keep organizing and getting rid of things but it's like it doesn't help. Our house in CO is twice the size of the one we are currently in, I shouldn't have that problem there.

OMG...

I'm F***ing pregnant......

I bought a pregnancy test...

because I'm two months late. I chalked it up to being stressed about house hunting but AF is still a no show. I've been very tired lately and it hurts every time M latches on my boob to eat (this happened when C was still breast feeding and I was pregnant with M). Although, it could just be the mold in this house making me tired. It has been giving DH headaches everyday. My boobs could be hurting because M is probably sinking his teeth into me when he latches on. Ouch. I don't want to be pregnant though, my two drive me nuts enough. LOL. I'll take the test tomorrow morning.

Received the inspection report

and it's good! Mostly. LOL. The only thing he mentioned was to get a licensed HVAC technician service the furnace because it would not fire up. We already knew they had problems with the furnace from the previous buyers inspection and that the sellers were already replacing parts and getting it repaired. Obviously, we will be sending that back in our request for repairs and hopefully they will accept that. We will be moving there in the winter (snow!) so we need the heat. I'm so excited to have seasons again! LOL. I love fall and can't wait for Target to bring out the Halloween stuff.

Chloe is taking a nap right now. I took her to Target so she could pick out a gift with the money her Aunt gave her. She picked out a music instrument band set. I know I will be regretting that noise maker later. lol. I took her to Petco after that so she could see her animals. I wanted to take her to the playground but since it was raining the playsets were probably all wet. She's excited about having her little birthday party when DH gets home. She's been talking about it all day.

My baby is three today

Wahhhhhh!!!

Today's to do list

1) Bake Chloe's cupcakes (she wanted cupcakes instead of a cake). -done

2) Finish Chloe's birthday dress. -not working out like I wanted, might have to give up on this one

3) Take the kids for a walk if weather permits (it's currently raining over here).

4) Go to pick up balloons/decorations for Chloe's birthday when DH gets home.

5) Pick up around the house after children properly destroy it for the day.

6) Decorate after Chloe goes to sleep and put out her "morning presents". DH has to work and I wanted her to have something special waiting for her when she wakes up. I will put out the rest when DH gets home from work that day and is busy distracting her.

So not only do I have the excitement of Chloe's 3rd birthday tomorrow but the house we have under contract is getting the inspection done that day. I will have the results of that in the afternoon. The previous buyers did have an inspection done on it and the sellers let us see that report. They also put a mark next to what they "fixed". We will find out what they really did fix tomorrow going by what our inspector tells us (we sent him the previous inspection). Hopefully he won't come back with anything we didn't already know about. I think the previous buyers walked because the sellers were unable to fix all the request they made before the deadline. In the inspection there were parts for the furnace that they had to replace and as of right now were still waiting on to come in.

DH took my car today so I'm stuck at home. I was planning on running errands and picking up the rest of the things I need for his birthday but that will have to wait until the day of. Just gives me something to do that day.

Where's the creations?

Ok so I've mostly been using this blog to post or rant. LOL. I have finally been able to start working on sewing again. I've actually got quite a few projects setup for myself.

First I was working on an apron skirt for Chloe. I drew and painted the Wubbzy characters on the apron part. I'm not really happy with the outlines on them. I used a black paintbrush pen that stopped functioning properly halfway through and caused me to mess it all up. I finally thought of what I should of done in the first place. I outlined back over them in a black laundry Sharpie marker. It was so much easier and went a lot more smoothly.

I was waiting for Walmart to get the Wubbzy fabric in (read about it online). They finally got it the other day and I grabbed a few yards. Mason loves Wubbzy too so I can make him something out of it too. I think the apron with the fabric might clash, so I'm stuck on what I'm going to do. Maybe a twirl skirt with patchwork or stripes. I also still need to add a ruffle around the apron to cover the surged edges.

My current project is Chloe's birthday dress. I found this cute cotton knit Hello Kitty fabric on ebay. I'm planning on making a bubble dress for her. Hopefully I will have enough time to finish it before Tuesday. We are just having a little family party but I wanted her to have something special to wear on her birthday.

I ordered this puppy dog fabric for Mason's first birthday outfit *tear*. I'll use the fabric for shorts or pants and then add some kind of applique design to a shirt. I'm still waiting on the fabric in the mail. I'm also having a hard time finding a plain white shirt for him. I can only find plain shirts in the girl's section and I can't get that because they either have puffy sleeves or lace on them. I have to go to the mall next week so hopefully I can find one there.

The verdict is in...

and if everything goes smoothly the house will be ours! Woo-hoo!!!! I'm soooo excited! The seller countered our offer asking for a little more and we are accepting it. We are still getting it for less than we thought we would. Now we get to go through the fun of praying nothing bad happens and we get to close on the house. We are scheduled to close on September 1, so I will be a nervous wreck until then.

Waiting...

The waiting stinks. DH called me an hour after they received our offer on the house to see if I heard anything back. LOL. We probably won't know until tomorrow morning. I can't stop checking my email every five minutes. We think they might come back with a counter so we are prepared. DH is determined to get this house. He called USAA this morning to bump up our pre-approval a little and found out they had to redo his credit application/run his credit again since we had a contract on the last pre-approval it was now void. Oops, we submitted the old pre-approval letter with the bid on the house and is wasn't valid anymore. =X It would of helped if we could ever get a hold of someone at USAA to answer questions. That was another reason we jumped ship on house #2. We could not get a hold of our loan officer at USAA. We called, emailed-heard nothing back. Then they decided to up and change our loan officer-she was a pain to get ahold of too. After two weeks and writing complaints, we heard from her. I'm so surprised we are having so many problems with USAA. It figures the biggest purchase of our life and they are practically AWOL. DH already has a ticket to head to CO in September so we figured if we get an accepted contract by the end of this month he will be able to be there to close. If he has questions about the big contract someone will be right there to explain it to him.

*sigh* Still nothing in my email. lol.

At least I do have birthdays to shop for and get ready to help pass time. DD turns 3 on the 28th, DH's bday is on the 29th, and DSon and DSister is on Aug. 7th. I'm going to be so tired of cake around this time for the rest of my life. LOL.

Fourth times a charm?

The house I previously talked about IS back for sale. Something happened and the old contract fell through. We are placing a bid on it tomorrow, fingers crossed.

When we started house hunting I didn't realize I would be changing my mind about the houses so much.

The first house was very nice with a great price but it was a short sale. They wanted to change some things on the original contract so we were able to get out of that one for house number two.

House number two I found while browsing zillow. The thing that mainly caught my eye was the huge playset in the yard. The house I wasn't thrilled with. It wasn't that big, unfinished basement, needed new carpet and we counted upgrades we wanted to do-granite countertops, new light fixtures, new faucets, entire house needed painting. We went through the home inspection, appraisal, and were waiting on the signed contract back on the request for repairs. I was laying in bed and had a nagging feeling telling me to go look at houses. That's when I came across house number four. I called in the morning and found out it was still available.

We debated between house number three and four. We went with three because it was newer. We put in our bid. He countered with his full asking price but would pay our closing cost. We countered again. He came back with his full asking price. He would not budge on his price AT ALL. It's a buyers market and that house is not worth what he is asking. Now I know why it's still for sale. He listed it back in January. Good luck stubborn home owner.

Now we are onto house number four. We found this house a few months ago. We did the bad thing and talked about it all night and fell in love with it. We found out the next morning it was under contract. I was so upset but just figured it wasn't meant to be ours. We are now in the running for it. As of today there were no other offers on it. They have until Tuesday 11am MST to let us know.

House hunting is not fun...

I thought it would be. It's not. At first it was, but then you are up late at night with bloodshot eyes looking at house after house. You get discouraged thinking you will never find "the one". You finally do only to find out the next day that someone else beat you to it. This happened to us twice.

We did bid on a house and were supposed to receive our notice to correct contract back from the sellers today, didn't happen. We are not in love with the house and are completely fine walking away from it. I only "like" this house. I think the sellers think we are in love with it and that we won't walk away. They are sorely mistaken.

DH and I were planning on putting in an offer on another house we previously had on our list. It's a beautiful house but I'm not really happy with the backyard. I always wanted my kids to have as huge as a yard that I grew up with. This yard is not it. I keep going back and forth between wanting it and not. Here I am at 1am looking at houses because I want to make sure I'm making the right choice. Forty minutes into my search on realtor.com I come across "it". The first house that DH and I absolutely LOVED. I loved everything about it. We found out the next morning that it was already under contract. I was crushed. It was automatically deleted off my saved list so I assumed it was gone but I stumbled upon the listing tonight. I don't know if the contract fell through or if it's a screw up and shouldn't be listed on the site. I'm probably just getting hopes up. I would love it if the sell fell through so we could buy it. I emailed the listing agent and plan on calling first thing in the morning to see if it's available. Here I am thinking, maybe the sell on the house we bid on fell through because I was supposed to stumble back across this house to get it. I checked other sites and it's not pulling it, it was probably just a fluke or an evil way to torture me.

I'm so getting my hopes up....

Table foods

I'm absolutely terrified to start M on table foods. I don't remember being like this with C. I think it has to do with the fact that he keeps finding random things his sister leaves on the ground and chokes on. SO i have this bad anxiety of him choking on table foods and me not being able to save him. ARGGGGG. I still have him on 2nd foods. I did recently allow him to eat puffs whole. LOL. Before I was breaking them into four pieces and giving it to him that way. I'm very slowly working my way into it. I bought him teething biscuits at Target today and he did really well with that. I'm sure he's been ready for the table foods but I haven't been.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny's delivery:

I can't wait until Friday because my parents are coming back to visit! Woo-hoo! DH is taking the entire time off that they are here so this will be a mini vacation for all of us. We plan on really going out and seeing Hawaii while they are here. We will also be visiting the Big Island for a couple days. I need to find lots of things to do this week to help it fly by. I miss my parents.

We are moving...

to Fort Carson, Colorado. DH received an email from the branch manager today letting him know this is where we will be going. DH ended up turning down the offer to deploy with 1st CAV in Hawaii, figured he would end up getting screwed and deploying right away with his next duty station. DH gone for two years, no thanks. It's not Texas but after thinking about it last night, DH and I realized we don't want to live there again. We are ready for a new adventure somewhere else. I can't wait to have seasons again!

Target happiness

I already went to both of the stores yesterday and want to go back again. LOL. I have missed Target so much! DH went crazy for all the G.I. Joe Target exclusives-I think he spent about $200 or more on G.I. Joe toys yesterday. Where's the crazy eyes symbol when you need it. I was the only one that didn't get myself something. How did that happen? Too busy shopping for the kids. I did get the Hello Kitty easter basket and Hello Kitty plastic eggs I wanted to get C that the Salt Lake Target was sold out of. =) We went to Petco afterwards. C loved looking at the fish, birds, and guinea pigs. She wanted to see puppies but they didn't have any.

M has the commando crawl down. By the end of this month he will probably be crawling. He gets closer to it everyday. Great, time to baby proof the house.

My parents are coming next month. Woo-hoo! DH is taking leave the entire time they are here so we will all be out doing tourist things. It's our last year in HI so we want to go out and see things/go places we haven't yet.

C has been asking everyday to go back to the beach. I feel bad that the weather has been ugly on the weekends and we haven't been able to.

We saw this guy on the way home from Bellows. It looks the Little Caesar pizza guy in a hula skirt. Ahh, Hawaii.

So...

DH and I were talking and we decided I'm going to be staying here while he deploys. Yah! More time stuck on the island. LOL. At least we will have Target. And we will move out of this house the end of March. I know my Mom will visit at least two times and DH said he will pay for my sister to come visit. She's all for a free ticket to come back to Hawaii. Last time she was here I didn't get to take her everywhere I wanted to, so this would be a chance to.

Speaking of my sister, her boyfriend is on R&R. They went down to his home state and while at dinner tonight he proposed. Awwwww. She said it's going to be a long engagement. I told her she can't get married until I am back on the mainland because I want to be there.

Hello Kitty disappointment...

The mac store and Macy's put out the collection early. Originally I wanted three lipsticks, two lipglasses, a blush, and two nailpolishes. After viewing everything I only ended up with one lipstick and one lipglass. LOL. Everything else was either too dark, bright, or similar to something I already had at home. I'm glad I actually went in store to view everything instead of just buying online. I'm still waiting on the kouture dazzleglasses, but they are scheduled to come out in March.

In other news, I had someone blocking 1/4 of my driveway this morning. WTH? I wouldn't do that to anyone. I hate living on this street. We like to call it the *insert street name here* parking lot. I called the cops on them and they have a nice surprise of a ticket on their car. Normally I don't care, but since some of these people parking along here are so ignorant I get even. I only call when you are blocking my driveway or blocking my garbage can from being picked up. If they are going to park near my garbage at least move it so the garbage man can get it. Here's an example:

Yes, I take pictures. LOL. I mean, c'mon, how rude is that? The garbage man is NOT going to get out of the truck to get that. Many times I would go out to bring in the garbage can and this is what I see.

Our landlord sent us a letter asking if we are going to sign another lease. She said they will be gone most of March and April and wanted to know ASAP-our lease ends on April 1st. If they keep it the price it's currently at, sure we will sign a six month lease-since DH is leaving. The ladies daughter said she wanted to raise it $50 but she needed to see what her mom says first. When we signed the lease last year her Mom said she was thinking of raising it $100. This house is not worth that much. They also must not have received the memo that BAH went down. If they keep it the same we will stay, if they raise it $100 we are leaving. There are nicer houses with YARDS in Ewa Beach that would be cheaper than this dump. DH said he wouldn't mind moving down there since he will start working on Schofield soon. He's already used to driving in traffic from Fort Shafter to Waipahu, so the traffic from Schofield to Ewa Beach would be about the same.

Ohh, it's thundering outside. I miss real storms.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

So DH will be deploying in September. For the past month it was for sure, then it wasn't, then it was, then it wasn't-sure makes your head spin. It drove me crazy not knowing what was going on. We decided that I will fly back to live near family. After much debating we decided that I will also go ahead and purchase a home. I'm biting my fingernails about this. I always envisioned it as both of us doing this together, but because of the circumstances and DH wanting to get in on it with the way the market is now, I will be doing it alone. I'm excited but also very nervous. After being in Hawaii, I'm soooo set on having a huge yard. I miss having a big yard, let alone a yard period. Our yard for the past year has been a slab of cement on the side of our house.

We will be flying my sister back to HI the last week I'm here. It's a free trip for her- I just want some help with the kids at the airport. Ugh, not looking forward to that flight. I'm already trying to come up with ideas on how to keep them occupied on the plane. I might just get a red eye so that they will sleep (I hope-lol).

My Mom let me know that they are coming to visit us in April. My Mom was last here in September and my Dad in October of 2007.  I'm so excited! DH is taking leave for the two weeks they are here. We will all definately be doing all the tourist stuff since our HI days are counting down.

I can't wait for next week. MAC Cosmetics comes out with their Hello Kitty collection. Normally I don't go to crazy for a new collection but I think it's my love for makeup and the Japanese in me that is making me crazy. LOL. I already warned DH about it. I think his wallet and my Macy's card are cringing. The kiddos and I will be at the mall right when they open.  I hope the MAC store has the couture collection. I really, really want one of the Hello Kitty dazzleglosses (in the second picture). I love the compact too but $90 is way too expensive. I'm also going to grab some things for my sister to save for her birthday.

DH owes me anyway for the late night run for medicine that I had to do with the kids. That was fun, not. Besides, he's going to the ProBowl, so I should get to do something fun too. Shopping works, LOL.
